Abstract: The article discusses the 10th Liège Conference on materials science held from September 15-17, 2014 in Belgium. It states that several aspects related to European electric generation industry were discussed in the conference including lowering negative impact of carbon, flexible operations of electric generation plants and energy security. It discusses the concept of martensitic microstructure with boron and nitrogen control (MARBN) steel.
