Abstract: This article focuses on recent advances in wood composites, synthetic materials made by combining lignocellulosic raw materials with binders to create versatile, consistent, and sustainable alternatives to solid wood. It highlights research on improving wood composite properties, including dynamic covalent polymer network (DCPN) composites, rheological behavior in wood plastic composite extrusion, bio-based adhesives, and formaldehyde scavengers for medium-density fiberboard (MDF). Additional studies address acoustic properties of coated wood, nondestructive lignin quantification via near-infrared spectroscopy, and moisture content modeling in wood components. Collectively, these developments underscore ongoing innovation aimed at enhancing performance, environmental sustainability, and application diversity in the wood composites field.
