| Abstract: | The article discusses the increasing demand for multiprocessor architectures on the system-on-a-chip (SoC) designs, tools and methodologies. It explores the complexities and programming challenges encountered with the multicore SoC, particularly with the software side of the system equation. It states that virtual platform technology has the advantages in coping with such problems, however, its development offers a laborious process. According to Russ Klein, project manager for Questa Codelink of Mentor Graphics Corp., the significant aspect of the tool for multicore SoC is the non-intrusiveness of the process. |
