| Abstract: | The article discusses the U.S. government's proposed reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, Common Core State Standards (CCSS) for English language arts and mathematics, and the need to align secondary transition skills with standards, curriculum and instruction to improve postschool outcomes for students with disabilities. It discusses approaches for high school special education teachers to align CCSS with academic and secondary transition skills in the classroom. |
