Abstract: The author shares her refocused approach to teaching digital citizenship following her daughter's first-time prospective employment experience with questions pertaining to her digital profile. She cites her daughter's experience which started her quest to inspire others to change the way they teach digital citizenship and the way social media tools are incorporated in school as it aims to empower students to be social media leaders so that they may develop more positive digital identities.
