Abstract (English): This article shows an experience of emotional education for peace applied to the practice of educational guidance, at Junior High School in Amecameca, a region in the State of Mexico. It is proposed that the counselor may acquire emotional competencies for peace and to communicate them to both students and their families, since enhancing professionalism to promote the educational center develops a space for peace that promotes inclusive, fair, equitable and non-violent education. We used the methodology of action research, taking a non-probabilistic turn, among a group of 36 professionals from the educational orientation of 13 different municipalities. According to results, the proposal allowed to transform educational practices and school realities, such as the change in classroom plan design to achieve changes in behavior. The objectives of the research were fulfilled, specifically regarding the necessary characteristics to participate in the programs of education for peace in the classrooms of the State of Mexico. Abstract (Spanish): Este artículo muestra una experiencia de educación emocional para la paz aplicada a la práctica de la orientación educativa, en el nivel de secundaria en la región de Amecameca del Estado de México. Los objetivos planteados buscan que el orientador adquiera competencias emocionales para la paz y pueda transmitirlas en su práctica al alumnado y sus familias, mejorando así su profesionalización, al tiempo que se propicia que el centro educativo sea un espacio de paz, promotor de una educación más inclusiva, justa, equitativa y no violenta. Se utilizó la metodología de investigación acción, tomando una muestra no probabilística entre un grupo de 36 profesionales de la orientación educativa de trece diferentes municipios. Respecto a los resultados, la propuesta permitió transformar las prácticas orientadoras y las realidades escolares, tales como el cambio en la forma de planear la clase en el aula o incluso el logro de modificaciones de conducta, cumpliendo así con los objetivos de la investigación y con las características necesarias para participar en los programas de educación para la paz en las aulas del Estado de México.
