Abstract: The article discusses LGBTQ+ identities complicate the ways in #OwnVoices has deployed in literary analysis and author studies. Topics include educators, librarians, and researchers maintain a fraught relationship with authorship, authors have expected to perform a dual role as both writer and public performer; and debates around authorship and #OwnVoices has inform understanding, as educators, of the complex relationship between authors.
