Abstract (English): This document presents some ideas of Professor Marco Rieckmann about competencies in higher education and sustainable development. These ideas are related to the importance of working on teacher training, which engages their thinking and actions to seek solutions and innovations in teaching with the intention to generate environmental, social and sustainable education alternatives to care for our world and the future of mankind. Abstract (Spanish): Este documento presenta algunas ideas del profesor Marco Rieckmann acerca de las competencias en la educación superior y el desarrollo suste çbentable. Estas ideas se relacionan con la importancia de trabajar en la formación del profesorado, que comprometa su pensamiento y acciones para buscar soluciones e innovaciones en la enseñanza, con el fin de generar alternativas ambientales, sociales y de educación sustentable para cuidar nuestro mundo y el futuro de la humanidad.
