Abstract: This article presents Web sites that can help teachers in introducing Islamic history and culture to young American students. The challenge is finding authoritative, age-appropriate materials. Materials on federal government Web sites are easier to find through specialized Web portals that organize information. The Best of the Humanities on the Web from the National Endowment for the Humanities in partnership with the National Trust for the Humanities, and the Marco Polo Education Foundation brings online humanities resources from some of the world's great museums, libraries, cultural institutions, and universities directly to the classroom. The Education Resources Information Center (ERIC) online system provides the public with a centralized ERIC Web site for searching the ERIC bibliographic database. The Gateway to Educational Materials is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education.
