Abstract: This article reflects on the past four years and the future of the research community in computer-supported collaborative learning (CSCL). It discusses the essence of collaboration and how to maintain the community's identity while embracing new ideas. The article also explores advancements in technology, the expansion of collaboration in different modalities, and the study of new phenomena in CSCL. It emphasizes the need for interdisciplinary collaboration and considering societal needs in CSCL research. Additionally, the article discusses the challenges and opportunities of integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into CSCL research, including collaborating with AI agents and developing hybrid human-AI systems. It highlights several research articles in this edition, covering topics such as collaborative problem-solving, the role of first-language heterogeneity in CSCL, the effect of prior knowledge on collaborative interactions, and the use of guiding dashboards for teachers in collaborative learning environments. The authors express their excitement about the multidisciplinary expansion of the field and welcome new chief editors for future editions. [Extracted from the article]
