Abstract: The article suggests ways for educational leaders to build foundational predictability for students experiencing trauma. Topics include the prevalence of poor current mental health in high school students who reported four or more adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), the importance of providing support for managing time in trauma-affected students, and the need to create a calming space for students with trauma to self-modulate and observe their peers' regulation behaviors.
