| Abstract: | The authors suggest the importance of teaching life skills in higher education to bridge the gap left by the elective nature of Family and Consumer Sciences courses in high school. Reflecting on a larger study that supported the positive impact of an "Adulting 101: Real Skills for Real Life" course offered at Texas Tech University, the authors delve into one of the major factors that may have influenced the results: the educational level of participants. Their quantitative findings based on computation of a one-way ANOVA showed no statistical difference in the self-confidence in life skills of students with post-secondary degrees and those who had not yet completed such degrees. Given prior findings regarding the impact of the course at the center of this study, these findings suggest that the course is a worthwhile offering for university students at all levels.
