Abstract: Montana has prioritized increasing K-12 funding and special education resources. Across the state, Montana focused on increased funding for teacher salaries and retention. HB 15 adjusted the base aid calculation by 2.7% and 3% respectively across the new FY 2024–2025 biennium. Montana received an increase in federal education COVID-19 relief funding. FY 2024 saw an increase in tuition costs in the university system with a proposal for decreasing funding for the Tribal and University systems. For FY 2024, the education budget was $1,145,421,648.
