Abstract: On April 30, 2024, the governor of Kansas signed the House Substitute bill for SB387. This legislation supersedes previous education funding and establishes a three-year committee charged with revision of public school funding in Kansas while maintaining previously set identified goals and objectives for student achievement. The House substitute bill provides three years of legislated funding by statute while the committee performs their process of revision. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
