Abstract: The article focuses on the integration of disaster education within science curricula to enhance understanding and resilience against various types of disasters, including natural and technological hazards. In 2023, there were 399 disasters that resulted in significant fatalities and affected millions globally, highlighting the urgent need for effective disaster education. The United Nations' Sendai Framework emphasizes the importance of education in disaster risk reduction, yet current curricula often overlook the social, economic, and cultural contexts of disasters. The article advocates for interdisciplinary approaches that combine scientific knowledge with social justice themes, aiming to equip students with critical thinking skills and the ability to navigate misinformation in disaster contexts.
