| Abstract: | Prior to COVID-19, educational developers (EDs) experienced demanding workloads and significant burnout from their daily practice. This study explores how the nature of work for EDs was experienced and altered during the pandemic, and how this affected our well-being and burnout levels. Analyzing surveys from 60 Canadian EDs, results show high levels of burnout and lower work satisfaction due to increased workloads and balancing the request for pedagogical expertise and emotional support. This work captures how EDs reacted to changes in their roles, the stress of the pandemic on their work life balance, and how those impacted relationships with peers and instructors.
