| Abstract (English): | This paper presents a comparative analysis of the situation of the right to secondary education in three Southern Cone countries (Argentina, Chile and Uruguay) in recent times (2000-2022) covering five dimensions: 1) availability, 2) accessibility, 3) school trajectories, 4) learning achievements, and 5) inequalities, as a cross-cutting dimension. It draws on different statistical sources managed by international organizations, previous academic studies and national governmental reports. The results indicate different progress and deficits in each of these dimensions, where the relative situation of each country is contrasted. These results are discussed in relation to specialized literature and explanatory hypotheses are explored. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
| Abstract (Spanish): | Este artículo presenta un análisis comparado de la situación del derecho a la educación de nivel secundario en tres países del Cono Sur (Argentina, Chile y Uruguay) en el período histórico reciente (2000-2022) abarcando cinco dimensiones: 1) la disponibilidad de recursos, 2) el acceso, 3) las trayectorias escolares, 4) los aprendizajes, y 5) las desigualdades, como dimensión transversal. Se recurre a diferentes fuentes estadísticas elaboradas en perspectiva comparada por distintos organismos internacionales, estudios académicos antecedentes y a fuentes nacionales gubernamentales. Los resultados indican distintos avances y déficits en cada una de estas dimensiones, en donde se contrasta la situación relativa de cada país. Estos resultados son discutidos en relación con la bibliografía especializada, explorando posibles hipótesis explicativas. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
| Abstract (Portuguese): | Este artigo apresenta uma análise comparativa da situação do direito à educação secundária em três países do Cone Sul (Argentina, Chile e Uruguai) no período histórico recente (2000-2022), abrangendo cinco dimensões: 1) disponibilidade de recursos, 2) acesso, 3) trajetórias escolares, 4) aprendizagem e 5) desigualdades, como uma dimensão transversal. São utilizadas diferentes fontes estatísticas desenvolvidas em perspectiva comparativa por diferentes organizações internacionais, estudos acadêmicos e fontes governamentais nacionais. Os resultados indicam diferentes avanços e déficits em cada uma dessas dimensões, em que a situação relativa de cada país é contrastada.
