Abstract (English): This article results from an ethnographic research study in the field of the Social Studies of Childhood, which investigated how three-year-old children express their friendships in Early Childhood Education. The data generation strategies included participant observation, field diary, voice recording, and the writing of episodes. Based on the analysis of the data, the following analytical units were defined: generalisms in the use of the term "friend" in adult mediations; affirmations in the children’s use of the term "friend"; children’s performative expressiveness in the use of the term "friend"; and children’s friendships in nuances. It is inferred that friendship is constituted through a dynamic of socialization that occurs in children’s play, peer conversations, interactions with adults, participation in planned activities, among other situations in which children recognize their friends in everyday social relations. Abstract (Spanish): Este artículo resulta de una investigación etnográfica en el campo de los Estudios Sociales de la Infancia, que investigó cómo niños de 3 años de edad expresan sus amistades en la Educación Infantil. Las estrategias de generación de datos fueron la observación participante, el diario de campo, la grabación de voz y la escritura de episodios. Mediante la lectura de los datos, fueron definidas como unidades analíticas: los generalismos en el uso del término "amigo" en las mediaciones adultas; las afirmaciones en el uso del término "amigo" por parte de los niños; las expresividades performáticas de los niños en el uso del término "amigo"; y las amistades de los niños en matices. Se infiere que la amistad es constituida por una dinámica de socialización que ocurre en los juegos de los niños, en las conversaciones entre pares, en las interacciones con adultos, en la realización de propuestas, entre otras situaciones en las que los niños reconocen a sus amigos en las relaciones sociales cotidianas. Abstract (Portuguese): Este artigo decorre de uma pesquisa etnográfica no campo dos Estudos Sociais da Infância, que investigou como crianças de 3 anos de idade expressam suas amizades na Educação Infantil. As estratégias de geração de dados foram a observação participante, o diário de campo, a gravação de voz e a escrita de episódios. Mediante a leitura dos dados, foram definidas como unidades analíticas: os generalismos no uso do termo "amigo" nas mediações adultas; as afirmações no uso do termo "amigo’ pelas crianças; as expressividades performáticas das crianças no uso do termo "amigo’; e as amizades das crianças em nuances. Infere-se que a amizade é constituída por uma dinâmica de socialização que ocorre nas brincadeiras das crianças, nas conversas entre pares, nas interações com adultos, na realização de propostas, entre outras situações em que as crianças reconhecem seus amigos nas relações sociais cotidianas.
