Abstract: This article reviews *Punished for Dreaming: How School Reform Harms Black Children and How We Heal* by Bettina L. Love, which examines how education reforms over the past 40 years have embedded White rage and anti-Blackness into K–12 schooling, disproportionately punishing Black children and undermining their educational opportunities. Love traces the historical and political roots of these reforms, linking policies from the Reagan era through the Biden administration to systemic efforts that maintain White privilege, including the school-to-prison pipeline and privatization of public education.
