Abstract: The article focuses on the development and implementation of a comprehensive pre-college course in quantum engineering designed to address workforce gaps in quantum technologies. The course integrates theory, experimentation, programming, and real-world engineering challenges, emphasizing three core concepts: coherence, entanglement, and spin. It employs the 3 A’s of Learning pedagogy—active knowledge building, application, and inquiry—and aligns with the International Technology and Engineering Educators Association’s Standards for Technological and Engineering Literacy. Through hands-on labs, simulations (including IBM Qiskit), and guest lectures from industry professionals, the course aims to prepare diverse students with limited prior physics background for careers in quantum industries by providing foundational skills and exposing them to current challenges in quantum cryptography, computing, and technology development.
