Abstract: North Dakota is a predominantly rural state with 170 public school districts, 31 special education units, 17 career and technology centers, and seven regional education associations. In addition, there are 58 approved nonpublic schools operating in the state. In the 2024–2025 school year, there were 116,598 public and 7,904 non-public enrolled students. This report provides an overview of recent legislation related to P–12 funding, including funding priorities for P–12 education, changes to the school funding formula, and the major human resources management initiatives.
