Abstract: The article reports on the results of the national survey of community services for the mentally retarded and their families, conducted the National Association for Retarded Children (NARC). Data indicated that approximately 1015 community services were operated by 412 member units of NARC as of December 31, 1955 and 49 sheltered workshops are being operated. Units mostly operated on services such as classes for trainable and educable, nursery for school class, recreation and counseling for parents.
