| Abstract: | The article focuses on the lack of resources for public schools. The author suggests how to reconsider and address the problem. The author considers the function of public schools as a system for equal opportunity which surpasses the socioeconomic constraints of class, income, race, and gender. The author suggests that by providing federal funding for schools, rather than leaving it subject to economic flux, the necessary resources would be available. The author also argues that in order for resources to become available, schools must prove a correlation between the availability of the resources and student success. |
