| Abstract: |
The article presents a case study about the fund-raising strategies of public libraries, using the major donor request of Marian Paroo in Meredith Willson's musical, "The Music Man," as an example. The study asked a series of questions relating to Marian the Librarian's fund-raising strategy to a panel of fund-raising experts, which includes Rob Lavery, Peter Pearson, Susan Mathisen, and Shirley Trauger. The questions focus on the Marian's method and preparations in making the request for support. |
