| Abstract: | In this article the author discusses the possibility that the Council on Undergraduate Research's(CUR) advocacy for undergraduate research is undermining the importance of teaching at predominantly undergraduate institutions (PUIs) in the U.S. He is critical on the CUR's role in assisting faculty in finding support and visibility for their research. The author recommends that CUR institute an outstanding faculty award of its own, celebrating a balance between teaching and mentoring activities. |
