| Abstract: | The article presents an overview of the challenges that students whose first language is not English will face when learning to sing English language songs, and discusses the challenges that voice teachers face when teaching them to properly pronounce words in English language songs. Strategies which can be used by voice teachers to help foreign students to be better able to manage English language songs and sing them with proper pronunciation and lyric diction are presented. The impact that proper pronunciation and diction can have on sound perception is discussed. |
