Abstract: The article presents the author's experience of participating the 77th World Library and Information Congress of the International Federation of Library Association (IFLA) held in San Juan, Puerto Rico in August 2011. She mentions that the conference offers a special sense of Canadian pride and identity with the inauguration of Ingrid Parent as president of IFLA. She states that librarian Marianne Scott express her joy on the Canadian influence in IFLA.
