| Abstract: | The article discusses the strategies that can be used for meeting the needs of students who are at risk of failure. According to the author, research shows that neither grade retention nor social promotion alone is an effective strategy for improving the academic, behavioral, and social and emotional success of students. The author argues that the most effective approach should address the academic, social, and mental health issues of at-risk students. |
