Abstract: The article focuses on E.ON Italia's transformative journey towards becoming a leader in Italy's green energy transition, driven by a purpose-driven movement within the company. In 2014, the E.ON Group announced its shift away from fossil fuels and nuclear energy to prioritize renewable sources, prompting E.ON Italia to adapt its business model and advocate for sustainability. Under the leadership of various CEOs, including Péter Ilyés and Frank Meyer, the company implemented innovative marketing campaigns, employee engagement initiatives, and community outreach programs, such as the "Make Italy Green" movement, which aimed to involve all Italians in sustainability efforts. By 2023, E.ON Italia had significantly increased its revenue from renewable energy solutions and expanded its influence beyond the company to engage the broader public in environmental stewardship.
