Abstract: Navajo peace treaties are reproduced and the conditions discussed in this historical document. Knowledge of peace treaties between the Navajos and Spanish in the 17th and 18th centuries is fragmentary. The first known treaty known treaty with Spain is dated May 12, 1805. Following this treaty came further treaties with Spain, between 1805-19; then with Mexico, between 1822-44; and finally, with the United States, between 1846-68. (FF)
