Abstract: Rehabilitation facility personnel are those persons who design programs and facilities for the occupational or educational rehabilitation of persons with physical disabilities. New directions in the training of rehabilitation facility personnel should stress innovative or experimental approaches of a variety of types at the undergraduate level. Among these approaches, three are given consideration in this paper. Part I discusses the recognition and understanding of the importance of integrity groups and the strength obtained from peer groups in the habilitation and rehabilitation of the severely disabled from poverty areas, addictive categories, spinal cord injuries, deafness, and blindness, with special reference to the younger disabled on junior high school levels. Part II discusses the use of the workshop or center as an appropriate environment and an essential partner of the campus and the university or college with whom it has signed an agreement. Part III takes into consideration responsiveness to multiple approaches to the education and training of rehabilitation facility personnel such as classroom instruction, orientation of university and college faculty to the rehabilitation process, fieldwork or clinical experiences, research undertakings, and the orientation of business and industry to responsibility in educational involvement with the placement process.
