This paper relates recent research findings to conceptual and practical considerations that pertain to educational television for adults. Issues discussed focus on (1) identification of the adult learner, (2) the learning needs of adults, (3) roles television can play in adult education programs, and (4) guidelines for designing programs for adult learners.
