| Abstract: | The major problems now facing a guidance department are the organization of the rapidly growing amount of information available in the field of career guidance, and the presentation of this information in such a way as to make it most valuable to the potential user. This directory is designed to assist guidance practitioners in analyzing, categorizing and updating the many sources of career, occupational and educational information that are now available. It will give the newcomer to the field a quick overview of the state of the art in career guidance, and provide the veteran with sources for future reference and follow-up. The information has been divided into four categories: (1) career guidance resources--print and non-print tools for presenting career information to be used by students, staff, and other groups such as school dropouts and adults; (2) career guidance centers--groupings of resources, people and media techniques that offer guidance services to a specific clientele; (3) career guidance systems--computerized methods for utilizing a data base in order to obtain information for career planning and decision making; and (4) career guidance literature--microfiche copies of all the supportive documents for the resources, centers and systems cited in the directory as well as abstracts and summaries taken from ERIC files which are relevant to career guidance personnel.
