Abstract: Designed for use in Trident Technical College's Secretarial Lab, this series of 12 production tests focuses on the use of the Lanier Word Processor for a variety of tasks. In tests 1 and 2, students are required to type and print out letters. Tests 3 through 8 require students to reformat a text; make corrections on a letter; divide and combine paragraphs; resequence paragraphs and lists; center, underscore, and capitalize; and create right-justified margins. Tests 9 through 11 focus on the use of diskettes, instructing students to enter a two-page text onto the diskette, transfer materials from diskette to diskette, and insert additional material onto a pre-recorded diskette. Finally, test 12 requires students to use a "list/merge" program to insert variable information. An introduction to the Secretarial Science Instructional Laboratory, describing its purpose, operations, equipment, independent study opportunities, testing center functions, and benefits, is included.
