Abstract: This report presents data concerning the distribution of 1989-90 high school graduates of New York State's public and nonpublic schools. The data were secured through the Education Department's Basic Educational Data System and reflect the status of graduates, as reported by school principals, in the fall of 1990. Table 1 presents trends in the college-going rate of high school graduates from 1976 through 1990. Table 2 shows a 15-year trend of the college-going rate, within and outside of New York State. Tables 3, 4, and 5 show, respectively, the distribution of 1989-90 high school graduates of public schools, nonpublic schools, and public/nonpublic schools combined. These tables are arranged by county within geographic region. (Author/GLR)
