| Abstract: | In 2000, the Georgia Legislature mandated that all certified school personnel complete the Georgia Framework for Integrating Technology in the Student-Centered Classroom (InTech), or approved alternatives. InTech is a constructivist-based technology-training program. It was developed as a statewide staff development initiative by the Georgia Department of Education in 1997, and was implemented in 1998. The purpose of this paper is to provide information about this initiative to improve teaching and learning through technology. Included in this paper are: a problem statement, brief summaries of three dissertation research studies investigating the influences of InTech at the elementary, middle and high school level, and recommendations regarding similar initiatives.
