Abstract: My research project is based on The Role of Accessibility Specialists and Related Personnel in Supporting Students with Disabilities in Higher Education. I chose to pursue this topic simply because it is personal to me. I believe that students with disabilities in higher education deserve the opportunity to earn a college degree. However, limited research focuses on students with disabilities. Many reporting sources say that the Accessibility Department in higher education institutions faces challenges in meeting the need of students with disabilities. Information about services and support is not always accessible; accommodations are delayed, and students' confidentiality rights are not always respected. As a result, there is a critical need to examine the role of Accessibility in overcoming challenges in implementing adequate accommodation and services in higher education. Therefore, this study will hopefully provide insight into the influence and role of the Accessibility Department in meeting the needs of students with disabilities.
