It focuses on several important aspects critical to understanding micro-credentials, starting with Digital Promise's definition of micro-credentials, followed by the position and role of micro-credentials in the credential ecosystem. This eBook also explores the value of micro-credentials for learners, higher education institutions, and the workforce and dives into the implications of AI on micro-credentials and the national trends on educator micro-credentials. Lastly, it shares Digital Promise's vision for how competency-based micro-credentials can be leveraged to support historically and systematically excluded learners and the organizations that serve them.
