| Abstract: | This study examines the perspectives of Saudi heritage tour guides on their linguistic proficiency and their role in representing Saudi Islamic culture to international visitors. A questionnaire was used to explore how they perceive their responsibilities in conveying Saudi traditions, history, and Islamic values, as well as the effectiveness of existing language training programs. A total of 82 bilingual or multilingual local Saudi tour guides with varying levels of language proficiency participated in the study. The findings reveal a strong relationship between linguistic proficiency and accurate cultural representation. The study recommends the need for improved language training and professional development to enhance the quality of heritage tourism in Saudi Arabia. |
