| Abstract: | Since April 2022, the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) and the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) have partnered to collect advancement data for the independent school community using the NAIS online tool Data and Analysis for School Leadership (DASL). Used by more than 40 state, regional, and national independent school associations, DASL is a powerful, one-stop shop for independent school data collection. School leaders can use this tool to find actionable data on all aspects of school operations, including enrollment, salaries, and more. This report and the advancement data collected within DASL include all philanthropic giving based on two counting methodologies: funds received and new funds committed. This report provides independent schools with a set of data points that can be used to set benchmarks, contextualize their own data, and provide a deeper understanding of philanthropy in schools in the United States. |
