| Abstract: |
In 2022, UnidosUS conducted focus groups of Latino parents with children under the age of three years. The parent focus groups showed that Latino parents know what they want for their children and are active in supporting their children to achieve these goals. But Latino families of infants face multiple challenges: misinformation regarding early dual language development, racism and discrimination and access problems with systems and services. This topic brief summarizes the findings of our focus groups. It will inform the implementation of the UnidosUS Latino Infant Policy Agenda at the federal and state levels, which recommends policy changes that will help address the challenges faced by Hispanic parents raising young children. |
