Abstract: The purpose of this study is to explicate Jeong-Kyu Lee's Comprehensive Model of Happiness in Higher Education. To discuss the study systematically, four research questions are stated. First, what are the concepts of happiness from a cross-cultural perspective? Second, what is the conceptual model of happiness, focusing on Jeong-Kyu Lee's Moral-Philosophical Model of Happiness? Third, what is the ultimate purpose of higher education, centering on Lee's Teleological Vision? Last, what is the Comprehensive Model of Happiness in Higher Education? In order to defend the four research questions, a descriptive content analysis will be utilized with a cross-cultural approach. As for the limitations of the study, the religious category is limited to four major religions and four great philosophers of the East and the West: Plato, Aristotle, Confucius, and Mencius as well as Christianity, Buddhism, Confucianism, and Taoism, which greatly influencing the Eastern and the Western religion, thought, and culture. The significance of this study is to provide not only basic theories but also valuable resources regarding the comprehensive model of happiness in higher education. Additionally, the importance of this research lies in contributing to the development of higher education by introducing the author's new framework on happiness higher education as well as presenting a theory that can contribute to human happiness.
