Abstract: Confidence in social science research diminished in the 2010s when several published research results failed to replicate. This "replication crisis" increased awareness that findings need to be substantiated, but academic researchers have little incentive to engage in repeating others' research. College students can advance their education in research methods and simultaneously contribute to their disciplines by providing the needed replications. Exact replications imitate the original investigation's parameters and methods. Conceptual replications maintain the original investigation's theory or concept while varying the sample or operations, contributing to generalizability. This article discusses steps for implementing conceptual replications in small-group undergraduate research within the social sciences. An example from a psychology research course illustrates the process from selecting a study to sharing results.
