Abstract: The climate crisis threatens the sustainability of global ecosystems. To address climate change education, which has traditionally focused on scientific and technical approaches, one can consider learning from the ecological wisdom of ancient peoples. This qualitative paper explores the ecological wisdom behind the traditional painting of Wayang Kamasan through observation, interviews, literature study, and documentation. From the perspective of art education, this research seeks to understand the relevance of ecological wisdom to climate change education. The analysis shows that Wayang Kamasan's ecological wisdom includes three aspects: the use of eco-friendly materials, the exclusive visualization of natural components, and ecological expression. The practice of traditional art in the context of climate change education can provide an aesthetic experience that captures the emotions. These emotions are fundamental in understanding the issues, developing critical thinking, and building wisdom of action. This can impact not merely environmental sustainability, but the sustainability of culture itself.
