Abstract: This qualitative phenomenological study designed as a descriptive and exploratory investigation focusing on the expectations of undergraduate students from the education faculties of Türkiye and Italy about an online eTwinning Initial Teacher Education (ITE) project conducted in the 2023-2024 academic year. Written reflections by 42 participants were collected during the project onset. The analysis highlighted the multifaceted and culturally nuanced motivations of Turkish and Italian student teachers engaging in ITE project. The findings underscored the importance of recognizing both shared and divergent priorities in teacher education across national contexts, particularly within the framework of digitally mediated and project-based learning environments. [Note: The volume (10), issue number (2), and year (2025) shown in the header and footer on the PDF is incorrect. The correct citation is v11 n1 2026.]
