| Abstract: | In this article we discuss the history of academic advising as documented in the chemical engineering education literature and describe the requirements for advising as specified by ABET. We further share innovative approaches to advising by highlighting three notable innovations and listing others with brief descriptions in a table. Finally, we offer some key takeaways and future opportunities to consider. |
