Abstract: Transforming teaching and learning across the Asia Pacific region has moved in waves, from colonial and religious drivers to more recent policy borrowing, resulting in traditional and prescriptive didactic approaches. Nevertheless, an inherent danger exists in introducing global teaching and learning practices without considering the local context. This article proposes a localised solution to global policy reform, a conceptual model that demonstrates the alignment of Pacific teaching and learning methods with contemporary Innovative Learning Environments (ILEs). The conceptual model will illustrate the considerable overlap between these two constructs and provide a contextual and useable framework for future Pacific pedagogical practices that address global educational drivers.
