Abstract: Purpose: This study delves into the key components needed at eight Thai universities to build an effective lifelong learning ecosystem that nurtures these skills. Design/methodology/approach: By employing a content analysis method, the research collects and analyzes data from university websites, social media platforms and other relevant sources to pinpoint critical elements for fostering lifelong learning. Findings: The results reveal that a successful lifelong learning ecosystem in Thai higher education should be centered around four primary components--(1) educational content, (2) technology and infrastructure, (3) engagement of educators and stakeholders and (4) support mechanisms. Originality/value: These findings offer valuable insights for university administrators to develop a strong learning environment, help educators design meaningful curricula and support policymakers in formulating effective policies and strategies.
