Abstract (English): The article focuses on a case of recurrent chorioamnionitis caused by Citrobacter koseri, an uncommon pathogen in obstetric infections. It presents the case of a 27-year-old woman with obesity and a history of urinary infections, who experienced two gestational losses associated with this bacteria. Despite antibiotic treatment, the infection persisted, highlighting the importance of early microbiological diagnosis and comprehensive management in patients with risk factors. The study also emphasizes the need to develop specific protocols for screening and treating infections in future pregnancies. [Extracted from the article]
Abstract (Spanish): El artículo se centra en un caso de corioamnionitis recurrente causada por Citrobacter koseri, un patógeno poco común en infecciones obstétricas. Se presenta el caso de una mujer de 27 años con obesidad y antecedentes de infecciones urinarias, que experimentó dos pérdidas gestacionales asociadas a esta bacteria. A pesar del tratamiento antibiótico, la infección persistió, lo que subraya la importancia de un diagnóstico microbiológico temprano y un manejo integral en pacientes con factores de riesgo. El estudio también destaca la necesidad de desarrollar protocolos específicos para el cribado y tratamiento de infecciones en embarazos futuros. [Extracted from the article]
