Abstract (English): The article focuses on the relationship between art and the history of food, highlighting how pictorial representations have documented diet, preparation, and the social status associated with eating over time. From paintings in Egyptian tombs to European still lifes and the illustrations of the Florentine Codex, art functions as a historical record that reveals changes in plant species and eating habits. Additionally, it is noted that today food art reflects personal obsessions and memories, while in the academic field, such as at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), there is a promotion of integrating medical humanities to understand food as a cultural and aesthetic phenomenon. Finally, it is emphasized that the study of food in art allows for an understanding of fundamental social and cultural aspects of different eras and societies. [Extracted from the article]
[Extracted from the article]
